Default Historical Price Charts

I wanted to know from where I can get details like of a stock:

Price chart from as back as say 1980-1985. Even 1990 should do.

I wanted to analyze some stocks like Castrol and others which have given more than 10 times bonus or splits and see how much return or compounded the money took place.

I was using Google Finance earlier and at most I guess from the year 2000 only details are available and also in some cases the dividend and bonus dates are missing in some cases.

Trading on the NSE was started in 1994.

If you want data for earlier periods, you will have to use BSE's data.

I have no idea where one can get such old data/charts for free.

I used to subscribe to Viratech's data for Metastock. Viratech does provide BSE data from the 80s, but I no longer subscribe to the service.

Viratech's data was perfect. I used it for a few years. I never found any discrepancy.
