Default Period we need to use for TA

Hi All,

I am pretty new to the TA and also to the website. My applogies if this is a silly question.

I am bit confused on what is the period we need to consider while doing TA. If i choose different period that signals generated is varying.

Can you please let me know what is the ideal periods which i need to consider for day trading and what period i need to consider if i need to go long/short.

Thanks,
Raj
