Ha ha...that's a lots of question for a single post .

1. No, you cannot trade on the forum. You need to have an account with some broker to trade. If you need a terminal at home...you can get one from Indiabulls.com... they do not have any annual maintenance charges and so you can keep their account as long as you want - even if you don't trade regularly.

2. There are lots of books available on technical analysis. My favorites amongst them are:
-Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by Robert D. Edwards, John Magee (This one is known as the Bible of technical analysis and is a brilliant book.)
-Technical Analysis Explained by Martin J. Pring.

These are the books which will teach you the basics.

There are lot of other books available, which are dedicated to specific niches - like Elliot Wave Theory, Momentum Indicators, Candlestick Charting, Day Trading etc.

3. Technical analysis is definitely useful, but just like everyone who knows to how to write, is not a good writer; everyone who reads about technical analysis cannot be a good technical analyst. Technical analysis is like an art - it takes time and patience to master.

4. Yes I can teach you technical analysis on this forum itself. I will renew my charting software in a week and then start with something on technical analysis.
