Default Have you linked your PAN with Aadhaar Card?

Has anyone managed to link his/her PAN with Aadhaar Card?

I think most people are facing a name mismatch issue because the formats in PAN Card and Aadhaar Card are different.

It will be mandatory to link PAN and Aadhaar from 1st July 2017 onward.

My auditor faced the same issue when he tried to link my Aadhaar to my PAN .

but I think people with small names like sachin surname won't face any issue, problem is when one has a long name.

Was the issue resolved?

My name on PAN Card is in format: First Name Middle Name Last Name.
My name on Aadhaar Card is in format: First Name Last Name.

I am unable to link the two.

You should add 4th option - "Have not applied for Aadhaar yet".

You haven't applied for Aadhaar?

You should apply because now the government wants to use it for everything including mobile connections.

According to a report in Mint, the government has moved to make Aadhaar-based e-KYC (know your customer) mandatory for mobile phone connections.

The DoT has asked the service providers to complete the exercise by early next year. Aadhaar-based e-KYC would also be mandatory for customers procuring new SIM cards, the report said.

I am not sure. How to check if my Adhaar card is linked? If not how to link it?

The name printed on PAN card does not matter, as it is an option provided to you while submitting application for PAN. What matters is the complete name you entered in the application (a different textbox is there in application for it) that is matched by the ID proof submitted with PAN application. You can get a reprint of PAN card with complete name printed as well. I too got a reprint with complete name myself, and it doesn't count as change of name

So please use your complete name rather than omitting the middle name as printed on PAN. It's your name in their database that would be matched and not the one opted for print.

In my case Aadhar-people inserted a dot " ." before my surname which is not easily visible at first glance. Could check that too. However e-verifying the ITR linked Aadhar automatically for me, ignoring the dot luckily.

My Dad's name in PAN and Aadhar is different.
There is an extra "Kumar" as middle name in Aadhar.

The name in Aadhar is same as in Passport.
Name in demat account is same as in PAN

i.e
PAN and Demat name is same
Aadhar and Passport name is same.

Pretty confusing what to do ?
If I change name in PAN, then changes will be required in all PAN linked financial accounts.
If I change name in Aadhar, while creating new Passport will be an issue.

What do you guys suggest ?

I thought I voted in this thread, yes my auditor tried but failed to link my accounts.

I will submit my return b4 this month end, and post pone the headache of linking the two by a year, and hope govt will come with a solution by that time.

Here is some relief for PAN holders.

For now, a scanned copy of PAN is enough to link PAN Card with Aadhaar Card.
