Index Options Open Interest - Query

Dear Members,

I have a query regarding option date of 4900 Call (feb series).

The Open interest(OI) on 29 Jan'10 for Feb 4900 Call was 33,08,000. (from nse website)

Today nse website shows change in OI for 4900 Call as up by 3,86,600. Adding this to 33,08,000 gives OI 36,94,600.

But for some reason today's OI for 4900 Call is is mentioned as 26,83,950.

Please can anyone throw some light on this or explain how it is possible.

You are looking at the wrong data.

NIFTY 25-Feb-10 4900 CE 94.1 124.25 82.55 116.7 116.7 234342 586251.75 2297350

I downloaded the bhavcopy from NSE's site.

Open interest for 4900 call (February series) was 2297350 on January 29th 2010.

2297350 + 386600 = 2683950,
