It all depends on where the home is located. There is genuine shortage of quality housing space in the bigger cities and I do not feel that there is a bubble in the real estate sector.

India's economy is growing fast and more and more people are moving towards the cities. Disposable incomes with people are also increasing. Home loans are easy to get and interest rates are affordable. All these factors are pushing up housing prices.

Yes there is always an element of speculation involved in financial markets. However I feel any fall in prices of homes will be similar to falls in stock markets in recent times. The falls will be sharp, but only corrective in nature and prices will bounce back.

Real estate is always a safe bet in a growing economy like India.

i would rather say that real estate is the only thing that will keep on increasing because real estate is just like stock market and its graph will only rise not fall
altough it is giving job to many peoples like the dlf which is the biggest real estate company in the world

In the long run prices always go up... inflation is unavoidable.

Prices of all commodities, metals, oil, real estate etc always go up in the long run.

However that doesn't mean they are always the best investments. Sometimes these commodities give returns which are less (or negative) compared to general inflation in the country...in such periods they prove as bad investments.
