Default Mutual Fund Tax Benefit?

Should I invest in mutual fund tax plans like equity tax saving fund or normal funds like equity funds or balance fund, for tax benefit?

My question is that equity tax saving fund offer more tax benefit than other normal funds or not?

Default

Regular equity funds have no tax benefit except that there is no long term capital gains tax.

The advantage that the regular funds have over ELSS is that there is no lock-in period for regular funds.

If you want to invest in equity funds and also save tax u/s 80C, you have only one option - tax saving funds with a lock-in period.

(Stay away from insurance cum investment schemes).
