Default Off-Market Orders (Kotak Securities)

Here's something from Kotak Securities about after-market orders and then click on AMO.

Is what they say that your order price must be not more or less than the closing price by 5% a rule specific to Kotak? Or is this common to BSE & NSE?

I checked Indiabulls.com.

In case of Indiabulls, there is no such limitation for off-market orders.

I guess this is a Kotak-specific limitation.

Default Off-Market Orders (ICICI Direct)

ICICI direct also has a limitation of +- 5% for orders placed outside market hours.

Do we have a thread in this forum which compares the features of different trading sites, brokers etc. If not can we initiate a new thread so that people can figure out which trading account is the best?

Thanks,
Sathya

I just saw this on my Geojit screen:

Quote:
Orders placed after the close of market hours will be validated and processed after the market opens.
No explanation was given.

I don't normally place orders this way, so I won't be affected, but all the same .

Hi Alchemist, can we place After market orders for futures and options through HDFC/Indiabulls or Edelweiss. I am asking this since in my office share trading is not permitted , hence I simply can't trade during market hours, it would be really great if any of these or any other brokerages provide after market order facility for futures and options.

Thanks.

I don't have an trading account with any of the firms that you have mentioned - HDFC, Indiabulls or Edelweiss. Maybe someone who has an account with them can answer your question.

If you want, I can try it out with Kotak Securities and tell you.

Alternative you always can place order through your mobile during trading time.

Wi-Fi supportive mobiles models are better.

For this, you need to get internet connection with your service plan.

Happy Investing!

Thanks Alchemist and San Yad.

Hi Alchemist , if possible please try it out with Kotak Securities so that if it does have this option, then it will be great.

Hi San Yad , yes I tried this option but it is not that convenient and i want to place orders after having a good look at the market, which i can do only at home, so i need After market order facility for that.

Thanks,
Rahul

I was able to place an order with Kotak Securities.

I placed an order for 5400 Nifty call.

The allowed range was +-40% of the last traded price.

Hurrah, so in any case my office guys won't be able to prevent me from trading . Thanks Alchemist for your time , just one thing is Kotak securities reliable (i don't know how and why but general image of this firm was not very good in my mind) and what are the brokerage charges for FNO you pay.

Thanks,
rahul

Kotak Securities is reliable, but is more expensive than many other brokerage services.

I have never traded in derivatives with Kotak Securities. I am a small investor and also do some intraday trades every month.

Here are the rates that are applicable to me:
