No Activities in my ASBA a/c till yet.

It seems that there is no luck with me again for one full application. .

You can't always be lucky, God has always been kind, but he has others also to look after, Wish all allottees a very profitable investment especially San Yad, who has been a successful allottee after being unsuccessful many times.

My sixth sense telling me to short this share during opening like MOIL, it may reach high and then never recover .

My predication always goes wrong, Coal India - Sell @ 305 at 9.15 am boost up after that , MOIL & SCI - Wait that it will recover from Initial value @ 9.15 am but everyday it goes down and down (No magic of strong fundamentals are working here), Now I took decision in any circumstances always sell at 9:15 am at market price & than forget it for few days.

ICICI Direct and Sharekhan are not allowing short selling in many issues I tried recently , whether they will allow for PSB?

On the listing day, there are no circuit limits and stocks can be very volatile.

To limit their risk, many brokers don't allow short positions in newly-listed stocks.

If your brokers haven't been allowing short positions in newly-listed stocks, it is unlikely that they will change their policy for Punjab & Sind Bank.

For shorting, I will give you some advice which Alchemist gave me a long time ago which is namely call up your broker / RM and ask him to do a short sell for you. They can and do execute shorts on phone for some clients.

But of course you need to close the position before close of trading.

Paran bhai looks like luck is strong with you on this one. Let us know if you are selling at 9.15 or going to hold. It's been a mixed bag for this forum when it comes for allotments. Some of us have been quite lucky while others have been terribly unlucky to get no shares even for multiple applications.

Which broker is allowing shorting, as ICICI & Sharekhan is not allowing to short sell?

Since this is a newly listed security, you need 85-100% cash equivalent of amount you want to short with Kotak, Sharekhan, ICICI etc.

With small brokers, you can short these shares with higher leverage.

Even with 100% cash allocation or even more , ICICI & Sharekhan is not allowing to short.

This kind of return is for those who rarely/don't play in stock market.

For those who are active in stock market, this kind of profit is like offering peanut .

I am talking about retail investors .

I earlier tried in many stocks (POST IPO Listing buying ), However in 99% case I observed loss only, I now stopped buying stocks after IPO for minimum 3 months duration , Even experts are telling about strong fundamentals stock price always go reverse than that of expert opinions.

The experts can be right or wrong. One should follow his/her own analysis.

According to me, the stock deserves a price of 160. It was down today only because of heavy profit booking and the biggest buying force i.e. FII's are missing due to holiday season.

When they will come back, earlier the stock will remain subdued for some time but will later increase.

If the markets reach all time highs, this stock should be above Rs 170.

Don't follow me and take your own decision.

Just wait for 5th till 15th Jan,, you will get the same in 102 Rs.!! Don't ask me why just watch the markets after 5th Jan or 14th Jan.

Keep your portfolios light and invest in SBI around 2518 / 2554 levels.

I will actually be happy to buy some shares at 102.

But, according to me that is impossible.

Do you have some insider news or is it technical analysis?

Whats the reason for its going down? Any fundamental problem? It is trading near its IPO price and got attractive P/E.

Problem is not with the stock but the whole banking sector.

Since inflation is very high, RBI is expected to raise rates further leading to contraction of margins for banks.

Further pension liabilities, hit on bond portfolios, rising NPA, bribes for loan scam etc. are some other concerns for PSU Banks.

All these concerns aside, below book value is a decent entry point for a long term investor, but buy only in small lots gradually increasing the quantity.

Small PSU banks usually trade in a PE band of 5-10.

I told earlier also don't enter any stock in post IPO phase, you will always lose in 99 % cases. Any expert may tell anything stock will never come up.

See examples COAL India, MOIL, PSB. Only one exception - Gravita (moved upward & stabled @ 240, even if all expert says that fare value is @ 150).
