Default NCD's (Non Convertible Debentures)

What exactly does NCD (Non Convertible Debenture) mean?

How safe is our money is we apply it through online trading platform?

Recently one of the NCDS "Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited" is available.

It's lot size is 1000 and for 60 months. I am not sure if we apply and our money will be locked in this for 60 months and they only pay the interest rate mentioned in only..

Can we believe such private finance company to lock money here?

How safe is it?
