IDFC (Infrastructure Development Finance Company)
Hi guys,
Once again I have come up with one more stock to get your inputs for
... At current levels of 125 is this a worth buying and keeping in the portfolio for a year or two?
Regards,
Oceanic.

Are you a short-term trader?
(The stock is 169...just Rs 9 down from your price).

The stock seems directionless and is waiting for a breakout on either side.
I suggest you keep a stop-loss around 164.
Averaging at current levels may not be the right thing to do.
The stock has a tendency to make large moves and a downward breakout may mean a sharp downfall.

amrutkumar had asked me a similar question 10 days back.
At that time, I had suggested that he keeps a stop-loss of 164.
Once the stock went below the trendline and 200 day EMA, it sold-off.
The
chart looks bearish now and I suggest you get out at the first opportunity.
If the stock moves up, then sell around 159.8.
The next support is at 139.5.
In case the stock falls further, average around 139.5 and get out near 155.
If it breaks 135 too, close all positions.

Next week is expected to be very volatile, so be careful while trading.
(I wouldn't go long in such a market. At least not till I see 14250 on the Sensex).
IDFC has a very strong support at 116-117.
This may hold on Monday, but if US markets crash again on Monday, IDFC can go all the way down to 100.
The stock is oversold and can bounce back from 117 levels.
You can buy around 117 and average at 102. Keep a stop-loss below 97.5.
The stock can go up to 135.

Hi Alchemist,
How does the long term story of the IDFC looks like? What is the expected price by Apr'10?
From the Indiabulls report I can see that the EPS is 10.76 for FY10.
Friday it was up 15% and on Monday it was down by 15%. Is it good price to accumulate for long term?
I do hold this at avg price of 130.
Thanks.

Hi all,
what are your views on IDFC? I see that the company has had a strong growth in recent years and the first quarter results were also decent.
Any pointers on this stock?
Thanks

At Rs 59.55, the stock is trading at 7.6 times its FY10 estimated earnings and can deliver 20-22 per cent a year, for the next two years.

From the price observation, looks like this is consolidating to make a move.
Which direction????
Would be great if the chart is shown with the technical indicators.
Thanks

IDFC has made a very sharp move from 45 to 140.
In my opinion, it may correct a bit in days to come.
However, as with many other stocks, this one also seems to have bottomed-out in the long-term and I don't think it will go below 100-115 range.

Any suggestion from experts if it's the right time to buy IDFC? Lot of fund houses are suggesting a buy at CMP.

I am bullish on this for long term.
For short term you will see the selling pressure at about Rs 220.
My personal opinion, it could be another HDFC in years to come.
Happy Investing

I think if it crosses 155-160 range, then it could reach 180.
However looks like it is already tired. Need to take some breath before moving forward.
Note: I am not an expert in technical chart. This is just my view
