I am not really sure how you arrived at the price of 125, but TCS has only given bonus twice - 2006 and 2009.

IPO holders have an average price of 212.5.

Even after adjusting historical data for bonuses, TCS has never traded below 200 and so no one could have an average price of less than 200.

Hi Sachin,

I had got the TCS right from the IPO time. I had sell few of the original share after I received the Bonus 1st time and booked the profit. Thus just now my cost is Rs 125.

Default Tata Consultancy Services - TCS

The board of India's IT major Tata Consultancy Services on Friday approved a Rs 16,000 crore share buyback plan, in an attempt to distribute available cash among its shareholders. The company will buy back some 7.6 crore shares under the scheme at a price of Rs 2,100 per share. More here

Any suggestions, is it good time to buy or wait for record date? Also, for retail is the limit of 2 lakhs will apply here, as it was in the case of Infosys buyback.

As far as I know, the buyback back rules are same as they were at the time of Infosys buyback.

I suggest waiting for now and buying just a few days (7-10 days) before the record date.

Can anybody opine about the prospect of 100% of retail holding for buyback this time. I understand in previous buyback of TCS, all retail holders who applied, were eligible for 100% buyback-although number of optees were about 50%.
