Pazhamozhi sonna anubavikanum, arayakudadu!! (for those who wonders what is it, it is in Tamil)!!
sorry if I voilated sec44D of alchemist rule .
Hope somebody doesn't ask what is sec44D ~hahaaa.....
@vasa jee
Actually i never compared these two ....i just bought a very few shares of GMR and planning to add the rest of it when it goes to 120 levels if it.
I may buy GVK also if it comes to 33 levels
Both companies have strong political backup and future leaders of the market and more both are high risk high return stocks I think.
@man jee
can i jump in and average it [Praj] around 95 levels to bring down my acquisition cost to around 105 levels
and also please give me the good entry points for Nucleus s/w and GFCL for short term investment

I have closed my position in mic also. Seems it is going in south direction and sooner and later it may break 31.
By any chance if you are holding Gujnrecoke then better close your positions and come out of it. It also has broken stop losses and may go back to its support. At low levels you can make fresh entry.
Happy and wise Investing

if these figures were correct there is absolutely no need to worry abt MIC for medium to long term.
For Fy08 they managed 6.4 EPS and
for the nine months FY09 EPS is 5.4.
As mentioned by the God the selling is with low volumes.So I changed my game plan and sold 1/3 of my holdings to buy at lower levels with that money to average it out.[if it goes below 28 ]
And june is their year end close.I hope they also done better.Only concern I hav with them is "Pledged shares".

I think we should not enter in bank stocks now.. USA shut down more banks and the no. of banks filed bankruptcy are reached to 52. So be cautious Ram@.

Andhra Bank is the only banking stock in my PF of about 3%
Personally I am very Very bullish onthis.[may be a tgt of 130 in 6 months].
PRAJ is about 13% in my PF............Actually I have sold many stocks in my PF which r running in profits to bring down the cost of acquisition of PRAJ by averaging. After the Technical Expert MAN's advice I put that money in GVKPIL and a Little in AB instead of averaging.
Shipping Corporation Of India Ltd. has informed the Exchange that the Register of members and the Share Transfer Books of the Company will remain closed from September 23, 2009 to September 30, 2009 (both days inclusive) for the purpose of Annual General Meeting to be held on September 30, 2009 & also for ascertaining the eligibility of the shareholders for the final dividend @ Rs. 6.5 per share to be placed for approval at the forthcoming AGM.
if i sell TNPL @ 28[friday] whether i am eligible for dividend or not
I am planing to re-enter the SCI if it is around 120 to get 2 dividends
worth 11 rs/- [ TNPL + SCi] with the same money [ which gives me more than 10% safe and guarantee return in the form of dividend in a month time ]

Yes, if you sell TNPL on or after 28/8 you will qualify for TNPL dividend.
And if you buy SCI before 18/9 you will qualify for SCI dividend.
If you don't mind my saying, it looks like you don't have too many income tax worries . Also, short term price movements could negate part of the yield from dividend stripping.
for an investor, dividend income from stocks is not subject to taxes.
(companies have to pay dividend distribution tax).
Because dividend is tax-free in the hands of the receiver there are provisions relating to dividend stripping. Here's a slightly old, but nicely written article on the issue.
If, however, at the end of the day one files a nil return or doesn't file at all or doesn't report intraday / share-related income these things don't matter .
