Default Stock Screener?

Hi Alchemist,

Can you please help me on judging the accuracy of this stock screener?

http://www.equitymaster.com/research...h/internal.asp

Have you used in the past & is the data accurate? I was actually trying to find some good dividend yield stocks & others too using this.

Please let me know if this is helpful for fundamental analysis?

Thanks in advance,

Hiren

The data doesn't get adjusted for corporate actions like stock splits.

Thus, it is inaccurate in some cases.

You can use this stock screener to make a shortlist.

Then you will have to personally check the record of each stock to make sure that the data is accurate.

Use moneycontrol.com to cross-check the data.

=======================================

equitymaster.com is showing Electrosteel Castings' dividend yield as 82.4%.

This is not true.

The stock was split into 10 last year. I think equitymaster.com is considering the pre-split dividend and thus the yield appears to be so high.

Default Best Stock Screener?

What I am interested is running queries like - give me all stock whose Share Price/Book Value < 1.5. Or all stock whose P/E lesser than 10. etc.

I have looked at ICICIDIRECT, IDBI Paisabuilder & few other sites - I can't find anything really flexible. I am even willing to pay for a service like this - any recommendations?

Thanks for the list!

Do these screeners consider consolidated figures or standalone?

I haven't checked all 4 screeners, but I think only standalone figures are used.

Just did a quick check of the remaining three,

The Capital4.com screener is quite comprehensive with a lot of parameters but it uses only standalone figures.

The HDFC Securities stock screener is also having consolidated figures.

Bullhouse.com's scanner is using standalone figures.

I have been using the Edelweiss stock screener for some time now.

There is a free sign up for a 60 day demo period of their services including access of reports etc.

Once signed in, you can actually modify the screener to include fields of your preference both in search as well as in display.

This is however not available in free mode. In fact I am considering opening a demat account with them as services and reports are of great quality.

Here's one such screening :

Hi, this is BullsHouse site editor. Thanks a lot for your feedback on our screener. We changed it to use consolidated figures. User still has the option to see the results based on standalone numbers too.

Which screener is capable of showing Debt vs Cash position of a company? I want to see whose ship is solid and earns good return on source of funds!

Consolidated one would make my day.

I tried downloading Money control data for cash and Debt separately as they don't show it together, tried doing a lookup, but saw the figures for cash regarding "reliance" were outdated !
