Can someone explain more about NCDs?

They seem to be like fixed deposits issued by companies, but the difference being that you can trade them. Is this the same as what are called bonds abroad or are they different?

How do I find a list of NCDs currently being traded on ICICIdirect (not fresh ones, but ones which are in the market already)?

Here is the list of debt instruments available to retail investors on the NSE:

http://nseindia.com/content/equities/DEBT.csv

You can search at ICICIDirect and see if it allows trading in these instruments.

As of now, there very few NCDs listed on the NSE.
