Default Do Depository Charges Apply to Intraday Trade?

Well today by mistake instead of putting a sell order of one share I placed a buy order.

The shares got bought at 98.95 per share. 35 shares bought.

With brokerage charge went to around 99.8.

To cover up my mistake. I calculated that if I sell all shares today at 101.75 I will be back to square zero.

Fortunately shares got sold. But bad luck 10 remained.

Now my contract note shows 10 shares at 97.71.

I was little happy then I realized there was a sell. So next month there might be Rs 28 something as depository charges.

But I am not sure since contract note shows an entry of 35 shares buy and 25 share sold. So sum total 10 shares buy.

I wanted to know does depository charges apply for non delivery shares too?

No, DP charges are applicable only when shares are debited from your demat account.

The amount for the 25 shares should be adjusted by broker as intra day settlement without delivery.

Thanks Kris.

Need urgent reply.

Those 10 shares will be credited to my account on 7th.

And that share is trading at 108.

If I sell it I'll earn some cash.

In short delivery not done yet for Friday bought shares.

Still no DP charges will apply?

The DP charges will not apply if you sell today since they cannot be debited before they get delivered.

But in any case call and broker and check with him.

It depends on the broker.

In case of Kotak Securities/Kotak Bank, DP charges are applicable for shares sold on T+1 day.

10. How would the movement of shares transacted for BNST-G/BNST reflect in the Demat account?

A. The shares that have been bought and subsequently sold under BNST-G/BNST would be first credited and then debited from your DEMAT ACCOUNT as per normal pay in and pay out. You would not be required to do anything different from your normal transaction.
Buy Now Sell Tomorrow| BNST - Kotak Securities
