Question Intraday Order

Dear sir,

Is it possible to place an intraday order before market opening (i.e. off-market hours).

Say, If anybody want to place an intraday buy order before opening of market and square it off during market hours.

You should check with your broker. Sharekhan offers "after-hours" trading. You cannot place a "limit" order. Only market orders are allowed in after-hours trading. Even 'limit' orders will be put in as market orders to the the exchange.

It depends on your broker.

Most online brokers allow clients to place order even when the markets are closed.

From ICICIDirect's site:

Can I enter orders after the trading hours? What happens to such orders?

Yes, you can enter limit orders after trading hours. Orders placed after trading hours are queued in the system and are send to the exchange whenever the exchange next opens for trading. In the Order Book, the status of such orders is shown as 'Requested'.
